Apple Sopapilla Cheesecake Bars

INGREDIENTS

2 cans crescent rolls

2 blocks cream cheese, softened

1 c sugar

1 egg

1 T vanilla

4 apples, peeled and diced

1 T lemon juice

1 T water

½ c sugar

1 T cinnamon

2 - 4 T butter, melted

1 T cinnamon + 4 T sugar = mix together

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Spray a 9x13 pan. 

Press one can of crescent rolls into the bottom of the baking dish, pressing the seams together in the bottom of the pan.

Bake the bottom layer for 5 - 8 minutes.

With a mixer, cream together cream cheese, egg, sugar, and vanilla.

Spread mixture over baking crescent layer.

Peel and dice apples. Toss with lemon juice. In a small sauce pan, soften apples with water and sugar. When done, toss with cinnamon.

Place apples on top of cream cheese mixture.

On top of the apples, place the other pressed together crescent roll sheet. 

Bake for 20 minutes.

Afterwards, brush melted butter over the top of the baked crescent rolls and top with cinnamon sugar mixture.

Eat warm or chill before serving.  Top with honey to serve.
